NJASAP, NetJets leaders gather for preliminary integration meetings Formal introductions were the first order of business with Union leaders describing their individual roles to NJI executives. Company executives then provided a briefing on the integration-related work completed thus far as well as an overview of their plans going forward. The day’s meeting then concluded and NJASAP Integration Team members spent the evening digesting and preparing responses to the information. On Wednesday, the parties engaged in a more frank discussion about individual and shared concerns and concluded by scheduling future meeting dates. The meeting could be characterized as a very productive starting point. Both Messrs. Noe and Eyer were very forthcoming with information, expressing a willingness to work with the Union throughout the process. With the preliminary meeting concluded, the Union is keen to begin the process and to engage in substantive meetings throughout the next several months. After the meeting, Ward voiced his enthusiasm for working closely with the Integration Team’s NJI Liaisons, including Dan Lieff, Jim Hewitt, Terry Cannon, Brian Cowan, Nick Nicolai, Frank Sligar and Bill Vaughn, as well as NJI leaders Noe and Eyer throughout the process. “Together we will work in partnership with the Company to complete the Integration in a way that benefits all NetJets employees,” Ward said. | Integration team welcomes new members, NJI liaisons (April 23, 2009) – The NJASAP Integration Team is pleased to announce the addition of Union Executive Board members Capt. Dan Lieff and F/O Jim Hewitt to the working group as well as the selection of five NJI pilots to serve as liaisons between NJASAP and the NJI pilot group. Trustee Jim Hewitt, a 14-year NetJets employee, occupies the right seat of the BBJ. He has a long and distinguished history of Union advocacy, serving as a Steward, Compliance Committee and System Board chair, and MEC member. This experience combined with an extensive knowledge of international operations makes him a key resource as the integration of NJA, NJI, and NJLA gathers steam. Vice President of Industry Affairs Dan Lieff offers similarly valuable experience: A six-year NetJets veteran and Citation Encore Plus IOE captain, Lieff has served as a Steward and Scheduling Committee chair as well as a Non-Routine Flight Operations (NRFO) subject matter expert; Lieff wrote the original Letter of Agreement outlining NRFO. Each of our NJI liaisons, including G-V Capt. Terry Cannon, G-IV Capt. Brian Cowan, G-IV F/O Nick Nicolai, G-V Capt. Frank Sligar and G-IV Capt. Billy Vaughan, have demonstrated a genuine commitment to protecting the interests of their NJI peers, making them an obvious choice to serve in a more formal capacity. Each liaison offers distinct, varied experience, representing a broad cross-section of the NJI pilot group. For example, while some have previous Union experience, others do not. Uniquely, Nicolai is an NJA-to-NJI crossover pilot, who can address concerns specific to this group. Integration Team members and liaisons will work closely throughout the Integration process to ensure the needs of the NJI pilots are adequately addressed. Team members will offer insight and information about the Integration letters of agreement, the 2007 Collective Bargaining Agreement, and the Union that will enable NJI pilot leaders to answer questions correctly and promptly. Additionally, they will have access to the latest Integration news. In turn, our NJI colleagues will keep us apprised of their pilot group’s concerns and questions, acting as a conduit of information. The NJI Working Group may be contacted at njiwg@njasap.com. All NJI pilots are strongly encouraged to seek out these individuals to ask questions or to provide feedback as the Integration process moves forward. On behalf of the Integration Team, I look forward to working closely with Dan, Jim, Terry, Brian, Nick, Frank and Bill. Together we will work in partnership with the Company to complete the Integration in a way that benefits all NetJets employees. Regards, Capt. Brian Ward |
